R.A.W. Storytelling is relaxed, authentic and sometimes wily. Seven-minute stories are told by those who sign up at the door. Audience members who just want to listen are very much welcome! Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Stories start at 6:00 p.m.

A raw story is just truth. Your truth. Come share it.
We invite you to the stage, hands shaking, heart pounding to tell a story. You can tell it or read it. This is for everyone from the one who scribbles in a 99 cent notebook and thinks it's probably crap (those are the best ones) to seasoned storytellers using it for a practice. This night is for ALL folks.

What kind of stories? Yours. Could be the time you got caught by your parents making out at the crick... Or the sound of your gramma's false teeth that didn't fit correctly... Or slutting around after your divorce. All stories.* Let's listen to each other. Let's connect over story in these insane times.

Can we just listen and not tell?
Yes! Of course!

How long do we get? You have seven minutes to tell. A bell will ding at 7 minutes. You will be gently ushered off the stage at 7 1/2 minutes. ;)

Can my kids come? Does my story have to be "adult"? Grab a sitter. This is a 21+ event. All kinds of stories are welcome.* You can curse if you want. You can tell hard stories. Life isn't all kittens and rainbows. But we like kitten stories too.

How much does it cost? No cover charge. Suggested donation of $10 and/or 2 beverages to support the venue and admin costs.

How does it work? The list is opened a half hour before the event starts. When your name is called, the stage is yours for seven minutes. We estimate that we have room for about 15 storytellers each night. If we hit the end of the list before the night is finished, we will open things up for another round of stories. If we don't get to everyone, you are guaranteed a spot the following month.
(Stole this section from Scott Whitehair, not only an internationally known storyteller but THE force behind Chicago's thriving, nay bursting out the seams storytelling culture. He has classes if you are interested. He's GREAT. http://www.scottwhitehair.com/ )

COVID policy: Bring your vacc card or a neg test from the last few days. Wearing a mask when not drinking or eating is encouraged. Mic condoms used.
